No other Point Pleasant athlete has ever equaled his accomplishments on the baseball field. He had a 32 game state record hitting streak that embraced almost three seasons. In 1958 he posted a .556 batting average with 25 hits, 19 runs scored, 4 home runs and in one inning had 6 RBI’S. He was 1st team All-State in 1958 and 3rd team All-State the prior year. While receiving honors in baseball he was also named Most Valuable Player his senior year in football. He taught Judo and was an accomplished swimming and diving champion.
