Otho "Doug" Greenlee

    Doug Greenlee was the first State Champion in Point Pleasant High School history with a state championship in the mile run in 1928, a record not broken until 1986.  There were few sports he did not master in high school, playing football, basketball, baseball and track. He was the leading hitter in 1931-1933 for the Marshall College baseball team. Upon graduation from college he began a teaching and coaching career that continued to produce records. In 19 years of coaching baseball at West Junior High and Huntington High School his teams won 206 games 0f the 279 played.  He was honored as a West Virginia Centennial Sports Great in 1963. Doug was inducted into the Marshall University Hall Of Fame in 1987.
