    Bill Smith played three years of basketball and was the teams leading scorer his junior and senior years. In these two seasons he scored 874 points. His 52 points for a single game in 1957 was the best individual effort ever turned in by a Point Pleasant High School cager. For his efforts he earned United Press All-State Honors.
